The 7 Days will take you from the Kampala people and culture adversities to the real country side of the primates and nature wildlife encountering the giant Mountain Gorillas the biggest attraction in Uganda, the chimpanzees and the game drive to sight the tree climbing lions, elephant and buffalo herds besides other game life.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Kampala to Kibale National Park
Depart by road for Fort Portal via Mityana and Mubende. Stopover for Lunch in Fort portal Town or have a Picnic lunch enroute then continue to arriving late in the afternoon. Use the afternoon to relax and explore the nearby crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel /Primates Lodge/ Chimpanzee View Guest house / Travelers’ Inn.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking /Bigodi wetland visit
Have an early breakfast before going to track the chimps and other primates crashing through the high canopy of the Kibale tropical rain forest. Take note of the colorful birds squawking in through the tropical forest canopy. Carry with you packed lunch After lunch take an afternoon nature walk through the Bigodi swamp as well as some of the projects run by local community.
Dinner and Overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Chimpanzee View Guest House /Primates Lodge/ Travellers Inn.

Day 3: Kibale- Queen Elizabeth National park
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The game seen will depend on the season. Take a Visit to the salt works in Lake Katwe, a salty lake in Uganda. Testing the waters of this lake is a wonderful experience for those who have never tasted salty waters. Have lunch and later go for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Engazi lodge/Simba Safari Lodge.

Day 4: wildlife expedition in Queen Elizabeth National park
With an early breakfast, head for the morning game drive to catch the early risers with packed picnic lunch before heading for the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel which joins Lake George and Lake Edward which is shared with DR Congo. This is an epic cruise with diversity of game to see as they cool off in the water besides the bird species and reptiles. Dinner and Overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp / Ishasha Ntungwe River Camp / Ishasha Bandas.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi National park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing either via Ishasha, the home of the mysterious tree climbing lions or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. This will depend on the road situation. Explore the village and the native communities if time permits. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge / Gorilla Resort / Buhoma Community Bandas / Bwindi View Bandas.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking adventure
Have an early morning breakfast and then go for a briefing by UWA officials at the Park headquarters. Proceed to the Impenetrable forest for gorilla tracking with Packed Lunch and water along since the tracking can take 3-8 hours depending on where the Gorilla family allocated is found. Remember you need jungle boots since tracking involves walking up steep densely forested hills before finally coming across the endangered gorillas camouflaged in the dense tropical vegetation. Depending on the time, go for a leisurely community visit to the local communities living around the park. Dinner and overnight Buhoma Lodge / Gorilla Resort / Buhoma Community bandas / Bwindi view Bandas.

Day 7: Return back to Kampala
Have a leisurely Breakfast before departing for Kampala passing through the ever green and beautiful countryside of Western Uganda. You will have lunch enroute in Mbarara Town. Stopover at the Equator to participate in the water experiment and at Mpambire drum village a chance to buy yourself a locally made drum Dinner and overnight in Kampala or Transfer to the Airport for your flight Home
