Day 1: Kampala to Kibale forest National park
You will be picked by our safari guide and will then set off for the journey to Kibale forest National Park. This scenic drive takes approximately 5 hours arriving in the afternoon on time for Lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, you can relax at the lodge or have an orientation around the lodge and the neighboring villages.
You can go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp to look for different bird species like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets.
Retire for Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / kyaninga safari lodge / primates lodge Kibale / Chimps nest / Mountain of the moon hotel / Chimpanzee guest house.
Day 2: Morning chimpanzee tracking and return back to Kampala
Before Break fast, we shall move into the Forest, for the morning Chimpanzee trekking. Great chances of seeing different primates such as Chimpanzees, Red tailed and Red Colobus monkeys, phoestes, Grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest, the Grey Throated flycatcher, Masked and Black-Capped Apalis, Chest-nut winged Starling and many tiny birds, butterflies and many small insects. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters.
You will then head back to your Hotel or Lodge for breakfast as you prepare for the journey back to Kampala.
Have lunch enroute and arrive in Kampala late in the evening for either departure or overnight stay at your lodge or Hotel.
