Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes Virunga national park
Arrive in Kigali meet and greet the tour manager to brief you about the city tour in Kigali to Dr. Richard Kandt National Museum and Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site. Have Lunch in a cozy city restaurant and later drive to the base of the volcanoes and visit the scenic twin lakes of Burera & Ruhondo. After the events, check in at your hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking expedition in Rwanda
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a wonderful experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas in just 30 minutes time, spend an hour with them, and return to the lodge in time for a late lunch. Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy.

Day 3: Optional visit to Dian Fossey’s Grave or transfer to Lake Kivu
Visit the golden monkeys or drive to Gisenyi, visit Ross Carr’s orphanage and Lake Kivu, climb the Visoke/Muhavura volcanoes, or trek to Dian Fossey’s grave, or visit the local school and community projects or walk to Lake Bulera. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Uganda.
In the morning after breakfast, relax or walk near the Lodge, visit the golden monkeys or trek to Dian Fossey’s grave. After lunch transfer to Uganda.
Meals and overnight stay at Gorilla safari Lodge/Kisoro tourist hotel/Wagtail eco-lodge(FB).
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi National Park.
Past breakfast, go for briefing by UWA officials and then leave for gorilla tracking in Bwindi National Park, tacking may take 2-10hrs depending on gorilla movement. Carry packed lunch. If time permits you can go for an afternoon community tour or nature walk.

Day 6: Departure
Breakfast is followed by picnic drive back to Kigali, or proceed to Kampala with a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town and at the Equator for photographs. Depending on your Departure schedule, you will be transferred to the airport upon arrival or to your Hotel.
